Asthma is a common issue in most homes, but there are ways to make your days easier and prevent your asthma from becoming more difficult.

You don’t need to get rid of your favourite cushions or completely renovate your home, although we have some great home products if you did want to! Here are 10 ways to make your home asthma-friendly.

Cushions - Use a steam cleaner at least once a week on cushions and other miscellaneous fabrics! 

Wooden flooring - Mop the floor regulalrly, this prevents dust and pet hairs lying around. 

Carpets - Hoover the carpet regularly, again, this will stop pet hairs and dust from becoming airbourne as you walk.

Flooring - Avoid having carpets if you can, wooden floors don’t trap particles in the way a carpet does.

Surfaces - Use a damp cloth to dust instead of dry dusting surfaces and make sure this is done regularly. Your TV, shelves and so much more should be cleaned once a week.

Washing - Wash everything above 60 degrees regularly and dry in direct sunlight!

Drying - Air dry clothes and other items in direct sunlight, this prevents particles and dust from getting trapped on items during the drying process.

Air Con - Use air conditioning to help circulate the air regularly and prevent dust, pollen and pet hairs from staying stagnant.

Pollen - Avoid pollen if you can, hayfever can often set of an asthma attack in some people so prevention is always great!

Fans - Clean ceiling fans and air vents regularly. This will stop the item from spreading dust around the room.
