Best Tools

So you’re about to start mowing down those weeds, but which tool is best? Here are some of the best garden power tools you can use to get rid of your weeds!

Strimmer

A grass strimmer - also known as a lawn trimmer - is a great way of quickly and easily mowing your lawn. These handheld garden tools allow you to cut your grass even in the most difficult of places. Cutting around a tree? No problem with this powerful tool!

In just a few steps, you can cut, trim and tame your garden until it looks like the most beautiful you’ve ever set eyes on!

Lawnmower

A classic! This useful garden instrument is owned by anyone who has a garden with grass to tame. Not only do these useful tools cut your grass, but they’ll also help to get rid of any weeds who’ve dared to show themselves in your garden.

Mowing the lawn doesn’t have to be art, nor does it have to be perfect or exact, but there are some great tips on lawn mowing out there to give you a helping hand.

Weed burner

These tools are great if you’re wanting more of a long term solution to your weed infestation! These torches are handheld and allow you to burn the weed from above the ground. The heat then bursts the cells in the weed, stopping it from taking in water and ultimately not allowing it to grow anymore.

There are of course cons to this garden tool just like everything, it’s important to remember that debris - such as twigs and leaves - can become flammable. Although this shouldn't cause any big damage, it’s important to keep an eye on it and stay on top of it.

TIP: Remember safety equipment is important here!

Weed cultivator

Weed cultivators are great for stopping the weed growing at the route. These garden tools have “teeth” that grab the weed at the route and take it out of the ground. This then means the weeds will stop growing in this area (at least for a while)!

As always, there are cons to this tool. The main one is if you have a lot of weeds, tiring yourself out is inevitable. This is because this tool can often be manual compared to a power tool.

These are some great options if you’re looking for power tools to help you tidy up your garden. Now all you have to do is figure out which is best and how to use it.

Weeds Explained

Weeds, as we all know, are the pesky little plants we just can’t get rid of and they make our gardens look messy and untidy.

These plants are generally found in awkward locations, places where plants shouldn’t be found. This could be in between paving stones, at the side of gardens stairs and they can even be found growing through your fence or shed.

There are a few ways to get rid of weeds, these are:

  • Mowing them
  • Cutting them down
  • Using weed killer
  • Digging them up by their roots

If you're looking for a piece of kit that you can add to your regular gardening routine, why not take a look at our multi-tools and see what we have to offer!

Petrol or Electric

It's important to remember petrol-based items will have a powerful engine compared to electric, but if you're looking for something lightweight for a small patch of garden, then an electric power unit might be the better option.

We have a wide range of tools no matter if you're looking for something lightweight to help you cut the edges of your garden or something heavier to help you cut tame your large piece of land.

Petrol tools are louder, so if this is the item you're going for, then remember to get yourself some ear protectors!

Electric stimmers and tools are perfect if you're wanting a simple tool like a grass trimmer attachment that'll easily glide over garden paths without causing damage.

So, petrol or electric power tools? Basically, if you have a small garden or want an easy to use item, then go for electric. If you're okay with a noisier product and you have a larger garden, choose petrol.

That’s it! We’ve given you everything we know about getting rid of weeds and the best way to do it! Now, all you have to do is put the plan into action and make your garden the best it’s ever looked!
